O M I Š

The small picturesque town of Omiš at the mouth of the river Cetina is today considered to be the tourist center of Dalmatia. Between two tourist centers Split and Makarska, Omiš has a unique location. Surrounded by imposing steep cliffs, the Cetina River and the crystal blue sea, Omiš offers a fantastic backdrop. This is a city that was under the government of the pirates for more than two centuries, and a city where the old Republic of Poljica developed, the first such in Europe.
Many cultural monuments from the long history of Omiš, many (fish) restaurants and ice cream parlors in the small old town, as well as various sports facilities, make your stay here unforgettable. River Cetina has cut a pitoresque mountain chain from the hinterland to the city with its km-long beautiful canyon on the way to the sea. The rare sandy beaches with small shady trees can be found in the suburb of Duce and make this part of the Adriatic coast exceptional and incomparable.

In addition to ecotourism in rural households, various sporting activities are an attractive part of the tourist offer. From rafting on the rapids of the Cetina, free climbing on the cliffs, sailing on the board, swimming marathon, water ball and beach volleyball, and recently a zipp line decorate the aerial image of Omiš

Small authentic fishermen’s villages on the 30km-long Riviera are quietly located and are equipped with numerous private accommodation, villas and apartments modern and thus a favorite destination for many holidaymakers, characterized by the aggressive rhythm of the modern Life. There are secluded bays where you can find your “own” beach, right by the sea.

Č E L I N A

One of these small fishing villages is Čelina, 5km south of Omiš, with a beautiful sea view thanks to its hillside location. In about 500m air line you reach the 3 small supermarkets, 3-4 restaurants, hotel bungalows Sagitta as well as some campings. You can choose between Kiessand, rocky and concrete beaches. The beaches are not crowded in return to Omiš or Makarska, everyone finds his place in the sun or under a pine tree. A diving and surfing center in the Nachbardorf Ruskamen extends the sporting offer. Snorkelers find their paradise here.

Our house is located in the street Pod Vajle 23, above the main road. Since it is a dead end, only the inhabitants pass by their houses, so that you will have a pleasant and quiet sleep. If you want to stroll along the promenade in the evening after a long bathing day, Omiš is the best place to stay, as there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and sales outlets. The area around Čelina is ideal for walks and small walks.
